Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing equipment and arranging sterile instruments
- Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and maintaining sterile fields
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments before/after surgery
- Transport patients to/from operating rooms and position them correctly
- Operate sterilization equipment and maintain inventory of surgical supplies
- Document procedural details in electronic health records
- Collaborate with nurses, anesthesiologists, and surgical teams
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted)
- No prior surgical tech experience required
- Ability to stand for 8+ hours and lift 50+ pounds
- Strong attention to detail and fine motor skills
- Pass background check and pre-employment drug screen
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (provided during training)
- Commitment to 16-week training program (Monday-Friday 8am-4pm)
