Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS standards
- Submit clean claims to insurance providers and government payers (Medicare/Medicaid)
- Manage accounts receivable and resolve claim denials efficiently
- Conduct thorough insurance verification and patient billing communications
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and industry best practices
- Utilize advanced EHR systems (Epic/Cerner experience preferred)
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure documentation accuracy
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience in a US healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or AAPC certification required
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., NextGen, Athenahealth)
- Deep knowledge of insurance claim processes and reimbursement methodologies
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Flexibility to work during core business hours (8 AM - 5 PM CT) with adjustable schedule
