Key Responsibilities
- Verify patient demographics and insurance eligibility to ensure accurate billing.
- Submit medical claims to insurance carriers and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Review Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements to identify and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Process patient payments and manage collections with professionalism and empathy.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date billing records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with the billing team to optimize revenue cycle performance.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Medical Billing, Coding, or Healthcare Administration (preferred).
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Billing and Coding Specialist (CBCS) certification.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and revenue cycle management.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Strong understanding of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
