Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits for all services rendered
- Denial analysis and appeals management with 95% resolution rate
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Collaborate with clinical teams to resolve billing discrepancies
- Generate monthly reports on key performance metrics
- Train staff on billing process updates and best practices
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a clinical setting
- Certification through AAPC (CPC) or equivalent required
- Expertise in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficient with Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR platforms
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Experience with electronic claims submission (270/271)
- Knowledge of Minnesota Medicaid and Medicare policies
