Responsibilities
- Claims Management: Accurately complete and submit medical insurance claims (CMS-1500 forms) to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Verification: Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to rendering services to prevent claim denials.
- Follow-Up: Proactively follow up on unpaid claims and appeals to resolve outstanding balances efficiently.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records while strictly adhering to HIPAA privacy regulations.
- Communication: Interact professionally with patients, insurance providers, and healthcare professionals regarding billing inquiries and statements.
- Compliance: Ensure all billing practices comply with federal and state healthcare regulations.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Medical Billing or Healthcare Administration is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in medical billing, coding, or a customer service role is preferred but not mandatory due to our paid training program.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and insurance procedures is developed during training.
- Technical: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and electronic health record (EHR) systems is required.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Availability: Must be available to complete the full training program and work full-time hours.
