Job Summary
The Medical Biller is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate submission of claims to insurance payers. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health of our medical practice by managing patient billing and resolving denials.
Responsibilities
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information for accuracy.
- Generate and submit medical claims to commercial insurance carriers and government payers.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and appeal denied claims efficiently.
- Manage patient billing inquiries and resolve outstanding balances.
- Utilize EHR and billing software (Epic, AthenaHealth) to maintain records.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and state regulations.
Qualifications
- Certification as a CPC, COC, or RHIT preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing or medical coding.
- Proficient with medical billing software and EHR systems.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
