Responsibilities
- Prepare operating rooms, instruments, and supplies for surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons during operations by passing instruments and other sterile supplies.
- Maintain a sterile environment by following proper aseptic techniques.
- Count sponges, needles, and instruments to ensure nothing is left in the surgical wound.
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
- Monitor the patient's condition and alert the surgical team to any changes.
Qualifications
- Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- 1-2 years of experience in a hospital or surgical setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anatomy, and medical terminology.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with the surgical team.
