Responsibilities
- Accurately review and verify patient demographics and insurance eligibility before billing.
- Submit medical claims to insurance carriers (Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid) electronically.
- Research and resolve denied or rejected claims efficiently to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Process patient payments, manage patient statements, and handle collections inquiries.
- Maintain and update patient records within the Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
- Analyze billing reports to identify revenue leakage and improve process efficiency.
Qualifications
- Certification as a CBCS, CPC, or RHIT is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, coding, or claims processing.
- Strong working knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR software (Epic, Cerner, AthenaHealth, or similar).
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills for interacting with patients and insurance providers.
