Responsibilities
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information for accuracy.
- Translate medical services into appropriate billing codes (ICD-10, CPT) and submit claims electronically.
- Follow up on unpaid and denied claims, and submit appeals as necessary.
- Review patient statements and resolve billing inquiries promptly.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and internal policies.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate revenue reporting.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Medical Billing or Coding preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in medical billing, claims processing, or revenue cycle management.
- Proficient in medical billing software (Epic, Athenahealth, Cerner, or similar).
- Strong working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with state and federal healthcare compliance standards.
