As a Medical Biller, you will act as the bridge between our medical providers and insurance carriers, ensuring that our patients receive the care they need without financial stress.
Responsibilities
- Claims Management: Accurately submit and follow up on medical claims with insurance carriers to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Patient Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility prior to services to minimize claim denials.
- Revenue Cycle: Monitor accounts receivable, identify outstanding balances, and initiate collection processes when necessary.
- Code Accuracy: Review and code medical records and invoices using standard medical billing codes (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) with a high degree of accuracy.
- Patient Communication: Communicate billing inquiries and payment options clearly and professionally to patients.
- Software Proficiency: Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) and billing software to maintain accurate patient financial records.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Billing or Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, coding, or healthcare administration.
- Certification: CPC, COC, or CMA certification is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
- Technical: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and EMR/EHR software systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-service oriented mindset.
