Responsibilities
- Claim Submission: Accurately review and submit medical claims to various insurance providers (Blue Cross, Aetna, Medicare, etc.) using electronic billing systems.
- Denial Management: Analyze denied or rejected claims to identify errors and resubmit them for timely reimbursement.
- Account Reconciliation: Monitor patient accounts to ensure balances are collected and payments are posted correctly.
- Record Maintenance: Maintain organized, up-to-date digital and physical filing systems for all billing records and patient demographics.
- Patient Communication: Communicate with patients regarding their outstanding balances, insurance coverage, and payment plans professionally.
- Compliance: Ensure all billing activities adhere to HIPAA regulations and company policies to maintain data privacy and security.
- Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly reports and reconciling daily batch totals.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED is required.
- Computer Skills: Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and willingness to learn specialized billing software.
- Attention to Detail: A meticulous approach to data entry and numbers is essential for accuracy.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with patients and insurance representatives.
