As a Medical Biller, you will play a critical role in the financial health of our medical practices by translating medical services into billing codes and securing reimbursement.
Responsibilities
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information to ensure accuracy.
- Code medical diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10 and CPT guidelines.
- Submit claims to insurance payers (e.g., Medicare, Blue Cross, commercial) electronically.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on unpaid claims and denials.
- Manage patient billing inquiries and provide statements.
- Stay updated on changing healthcare regulations and compliance standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; Associate degree in Healthcare Administration preferred.
- Certified Medical Biller (CMB) or CPC certification is a plus.
- 1-3 years of experience in medical billing, claims processing, or revenue cycle management.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., AthenaHealth, Epic, Cerner) and billing software.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance and privacy laws.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
