Responsibilities
- Accurately verify and enter patient demographics, insurance information, and medical records into billing software.
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance carriers (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial) electronically.
- Monitor claim status and follow up on unpaid or delayed claims.
- Review and respond to Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements and resolve billing discrepancies.
- Prepare and send monthly patient statements and collect payments.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient and financial data in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with the accounts receivable team to ensure a smooth revenue cycle.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Basic computer proficiency and comfort with navigating Windows-based applications.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to spot errors quickly.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for patient interaction.
- Basic understanding of math and the ability to work with numbers accurately.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (optional but preferred for local travel).
- Willingness to learn new software and follow standard operating procedures.
