Responsibilities
- Verify patient demographics and insurance information for accuracy before claim submission.
- Submit medical claims to insurance carriers (Blue Cross, Aetna, Medicare, etc.) electronically.
- Follow up on outstanding claims and appeal denied claims when necessary.
- Communicate with patients regarding their invoices, payments, and insurance coverage.
- Maintain organized and up-to-date filing systems for medical records.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and internal company policies.
- Assist the billing supervisor with month-end reporting and data entry tasks.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Basic computer literacy and typing skills are essential.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot errors quickly.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- No previous medical billing or coding experience is required; training will be provided.
