Responsibilities
- Review and verify medical records, charts, and documentation for accuracy before billing.
- Submit clean claims to insurance payers (commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid) to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Follow up on denied or rejected claims to resolve issues and secure payment.
- Communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries and statements.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient accounts and financial records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Identify trends in claim denials and work with management to improve billing processes.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration or related field is a plus.
- Willingness to complete paid training and obtain necessary certifications (CPC, CPC-A, or CBCS preferred but not mandatory).
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to detect errors in data entry.
- Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
