Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescription medications under pharmacist supervision
- Process insurance claims and manage third-party billing systems
- Counsel patients on medication usage and potential side effects
- Maintain precise inventory control and automated dispensing systems
- Ensure compliance with DEA, HIPAA, and California Board of Pharmacy regulations
- Coordinate with healthcare providers for prescription verification
- Train and mentor new pharmacy technicians
Qualifications
- Active California Pharmacy Technician license required
- 1+ years retail or hospital pharmacy experience preferred
- PTCB or ExCPT certification strongly preferred
- Proficiency in pharmacy software (QS1, Rx30, etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and mathematical accuracy
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work flexible shifts including weekends
- Basic knowledge of sterile compounding techniques
