Responsibilities
- Process and submit insurance claims for medical services using ICD-10 and CPT codes
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to service delivery
- Investigate and resolve claim denials and payment discrepancies
- Maintain accurate patient financial records and account balances
- Communicate effectively with patients, insurance providers, and clinical staff
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and strict confidentiality of patient data
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance and revenue cycle metrics
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Expert knowledge of insurance claim processes and reimbursement methodologies
- Proficient in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth, or similar)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
