Responsibilities
- Verify and enter patient demographic and insurance information with 100% accuracy.
- Prepare and submit medical claims to insurance carriers (Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial) electronically.
- Analyze and respond to Explanation of Benefits (EOB) statements and resolve claim denials effectively.
- Reconcile patient accounts and post payments, adjustments, and credits.
- Communicate with patients regarding outstanding balances and financial responsibilities.
- Stay current with changing healthcare regulations, ICD-10 coding updates, and payer policies.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, or similar) to document billing activities.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Billing/Coding is preferred.
- Certification (CPC, CMA, RHIT, RHIA) is highly desired.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing, claims processing, or revenue cycle management.
- Deep knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and medical billing software.
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines.
