Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS systems
- Verify insurance coverage and patient eligibility for all services rendered
- Resolve claim denials and appeals through systematic follow-up procedures
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing compliance standards
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure documentation supports accurate billing
- Generate monthly reports on key performance metrics for revenue cycle management
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of medical billing experience in a hospital or clinic setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in Epic, Medisoft, or similar EMR systems
- Strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and commercial insurance regulations
- Exceptional attention to detail with claim accuracy above 98%
- Experience with denial management and AR follow-up processes
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field preferred
