Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies with 95%+ accuracy
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to service
- Investigate and resolve claim denials/rejections within 72 hours
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing guidelines
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance metrics
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure proper documentation
- Train on new billing technologies and regulatory updates
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience in a clinical setting
- Certification in medical billing (CPC, CBCS, or equivalent)
- Proficiency with Epic, NextGen, or similar EHR systems
- Advanced knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding standards
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage high-volume claims efficiently
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Experience with Medicare/Medicaid billing protocols
