Responsibilities
- Review and submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers (Medicare/Medicaid)
- Resolve billing discrepancies through effective follow-up and appeals processes
- Ensure accurate coding using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS standards
- Communicate professionally with patients regarding payment plans and coverage
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and healthcare billing regulations
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance and denial trends
- Collaborate with clinical staff to document services accurately
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a hospital or clinic setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in Epic, Medisoft, or similar billing software
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
- Experience with claim scrubbers and denial management
- Ability to handle high-volume billing in a fast-paced environment
- Associate's degree in healthcare administration or related field
