Responsibilities
- Accurately process and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient eligibility, benefits, and coverage details
- Resolve claim denials and billing discrepancies through effective communication
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and healthcare billing standards
- Utilize EHR systems (Epic/Cerner preferred) for documentation and coding
- Analyze account receivables and follow up on outstanding balances
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure accurate charge capture
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in outpatient/ambulatory setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Experience with claim scrubbing and denial management
- Strong analytical skills and attention to financial details
- Excellent communication abilities for payer negotiations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and billing software (e.g., NextGen, Athenahealth)
