Responsibilities
- Verify and Post Charges: Accurately verify patient insurance eligibility and post charges to the appropriate insurance carriers and patient accounts.
- Claims Management: Submit claims electronically and manually to payers, including Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance.
- Denial Management: Analyze rejected and denied claims to determine root causes and implement corrective action to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Patient Billing: Generate and send patient statements, answer billing inquiries, and collect outstanding balances professionally.
- Compliance: Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA guidelines and internal coding compliance standards.
- Reporting: Assist in month-end close processes and generate revenue reports to track accounts receivable.
Qualifications
- Experience: 1-3 years of experience in medical billing and coding (CPC, CMA, or RHIT preferred).
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Billing or Healthcare Administration is a plus.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines; experience with Epic or NextGen billing software is highly desirable.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional ability to spot errors and ensure data accuracy in high-volume environments.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients and insurance representatives.
- Location: Must be willing to work on-site in Mesa, AZ.
