Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims to insurance providers using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits before service delivery
- Resolve claim denials and appeals through systematic follow-up with payers
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and industry best practices
- Utilize Epic and NextGen EHR systems for documentation and billing workflows
- Generate monthly reports on denial rates and collection performance
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure accurate documentation
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a hospital or clinic setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist (CMRS) preferred
- Expertise in CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payer policies
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills for patient and insurer interactions
