Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean medical claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits before service delivery
- Appeal denied claims with supporting documentation
- Ensure HIPAA compliance and confidentiality of patient data
- Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve billing discrepancies
- Generate regular reports on revenue cycle performance
- Stay updated on coding guidelines (CPT/ICD-10) and regulatory changes
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience in a hospital or clinic setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Cerner, NextGen)
- Expert knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Associate's degree in Health Information Management or related field
