Responsibilities
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies with 95%+ accuracy
- Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits before service delivery
- Resolve claim denials and payment discrepancies through effective follow-up
- Maintain HIPAA-compliant patient billing records and documentation
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure coding accuracy (ICD-10, CPT)
- Analyze aging reports and implement collection strategies for outstanding balances
- Stay updated on CMS regulations and payer policy changes
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth)
- Strong knowledge of insurance claim processes and reimbursement rules
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
