Responsibilities
- Accurately code medical claims using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines
- Process electronic claims submission to insurance companies and government payers
- Conduct thorough follow-up on denied/incomplete claims to maximize reimbursement
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing documentation standards
- Analyze aging reports to identify revenue cycle bottlenecks and implement solutions
- Collaborate with clinical staff to resolve billing discrepancies
- Utilize Epic EHR system for patient account management
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience in outpatient or ambulatory settings
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credential required
- Proficiency in medical billing software (Epic, NextGen, or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and commercial payer policies
- Exceptional attention to detail with 98% claim accuracy
