Responsibilities
- Review and process medical claims for accuracy and compliance with insurance guidelines
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits before service delivery
- Submit electronic claims to insurance payers and follow up on outstanding balances
- Denial management: investigate and resolve claim rejections/denials
- Maintain accurate patient billing records and documentation
- Communicate effectively with patients regarding payment responsibilities
- Stay updated on CPT/ICD-10 coding and regulatory changes
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience with insurance claim submission
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in medical billing software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth)
- Strong knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding guidelines
- Excellent attention to detail and data entry accuracy
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication skills for patient and insurer interactions
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
