Responsibilities
- Process and submit clean claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits before service delivery
- Resolve claim denials and underpayments through appeals
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer regulations
- Use EHR systems (Epic, Cerner) for billing documentation
- Conduct regular AR follow-ups and account reconciliation
- Collaborate with clinical staff for accurate coding support
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience in a US healthcare setting
- Proficiency in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding
- Strong knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and commercial payer policies
- Experience with billing software (e.g., NextGen, Athenahealth)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent; associates degree a plus
