Responsibilities
- Process and submit accurate medical claims to insurance carriers and government payers
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits prior to service delivery
- Resolve claim denials and underpayments through systematic follow-up
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, CMS, and payer-specific regulations
- Generate monthly reports on denial rates and collection performance
- Collaborate with clinical teams to document services accurately
- Utilize Epic EMR system for charge entry and coding
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with commercial and government payers
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC credential required
- Expertise in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems
- Advanced knowledge of Michigan Medicaid and Blue Cross Blue Shield policies
- Proficient in Epic Resolute and DenialTrac software
- Exceptional attention to detail with error rate <2%
- Strong analytical skills for root cause analysis of claim denials
