Responsibilities
- Accurately code and submit medical claims to insurance carriers and government payers.
- Analyze denied claims and implement corrective actions to ensure timely reimbursement.
- Manage patient billing inquiries and resolve discrepancies to maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Perform regular account reconciliation and payment posting.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and internal billing protocols.
- Collaborate with billing team members to optimize revenue cycle workflows.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Billing or Coding preferred.
- 1-3 years of professional experience in medical billing or a related field.
- Certification (CPC, CRC, or CEM) is highly preferred.
- Proficient in EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or AthenaHealth.
- Strong knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Exceptional attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
