As a Medical Biller, you will play a critical role in the financial health of our healthcare partners. You will be responsible for ensuring that claims are processed correctly and efficiently while maintaining strict compliance with healthcare regulations.
Responsibilities
- Review and submit medical claims to insurance carriers using CMS-1500 forms and electronic billing systems.
- Perform regular audits of billing records to identify, correct, and prevent errors before submission.
- Manage the claim denial and appeals process to maximize reimbursement and revenue.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to service delivery.
- Respond professionally to patient inquiries regarding billing statements and coverage details.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in our Electronic Health Records (EHR) system.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or certification (CPC, CPC-H, CCS) preferred.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing, coding, or revenue cycle management.
- Strong working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding guidelines.
- Proficiency with medical billing software (Epic, AthenaHealth, or Cerner).
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid setting with flexible scheduling.
