Responsibilities
- Accurately submit and follow up on medical claims to insurance carriers (Commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid).
- Review patient records and medical charts to ensure coding accuracy and compliance with ICD-10 and CPT guidelines.
- Manage accounts receivable, resolve denied claims, and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to services rendered.
- Reconcile daily remittances and post transactions to patient accounts.
- Assist with month-end close processes and financial reporting.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in medical billing or medical coding.
- CPC, COC, CCA, or RHIT certification is preferred.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems (Epic, AthenaHealth, or Cerner experience is a plus).
- Strong working knowledge of HCPCS, ICD-10, and CPT coding systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required).
