Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end medical billing process, including claims submission, follow-up, and resolution of denials.
- Analyze medical records to assign accurate ICD-10 and CPT codes in compliance with current coding guidelines.
- Review and appeal denied insurance claims to maximize reimbursement and minimize write-offs.
- Collaborate with patients and insurance providers to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure timely payments.
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and implement strategies to reduce outstanding balances.
- Utilize EHR systems to document billing activities and maintain accurate patient records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management, Medical Billing, or related field preferred.
- Certification as a CPC, CPC-H, RHIA, or RHIT is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical billing and coding within a hospital or private practice setting.
- Proficient with electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic, Cerner, or AthenaHealth.
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance, insurance regulations, and coding standards (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10).
- Exceptional attention to detail and analytical problem-solving skills.
