Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, managing the check-in and check-out process efficiently.
- Answer and route incoming phone calls with a polite and helpful demeanor, handling patient inquiries and appointment reminders.
- Schedule and confirm patient appointments using our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Verify patient insurance information and collect co-pays or deductibles as required.
- Maintain the reception area in a clean, organized, and welcoming condition.
- Assist with light clerical duties, including filing, faxing, and data entry to support the medical team.
- Handle sensitive patient information with strict adherence to HIPAA privacy regulations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; additional certification in medical reception or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in a medical front desk, reception, or customer service role is preferred.
- Familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and medical terminology is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients of all ages.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic computer navigation.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Valid state-issued driver's license and reliable transportation (if applicable to office duties).
