Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients warmly as they arrive, ensuring a professional and welcoming atmosphere.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out procedures, including updating medical records and collecting copayments.
- Schedule patient appointments and manage provider calendars using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Answer incoming phone calls, route messages to the appropriate staff, and answer basic patient inquiries.
- Verify patient insurance coverage and submit claims accurately to third-party payers.
- Assist with medical billing and coding tasks under the supervision of the billing department.
- Maintain a clean and organized reception area and waiting room.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration is a plus.
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist, Front Desk Coordinator, or in a similar role preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-first mindset.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Must possess a professional appearance and demeanor.
