Responsibilities
- Greet and Welcome Visitors: Provide a warm and professional welcome to all patients and visitors entering the facility.
- Manage Front Desk Operations: Answer multi-line phone systems, screen calls, and redirect as necessary to ensure seamless communication.
- Schedule Appointments: Book patient appointments accurately using the electronic health record (EHR) system and send reminders.
- Patient Intake: Verify patient demographics, insurance information, and collect co-pays efficiently and accurately.
- Medical Records Management: Maintain and update patient charts, ensuring all documentation is current and compliant with HIPAA regulations.
- Administrative Support: Perform data entry, file management, and assist the medical staff with general office duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Medical Receptionist certification or Associates degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical front desk or administrative reception role.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in EMR/EHR software (e.g., AthenaHealth, Epic) and Microsoft Office Suite is essential.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of medical terminology, insurance verification processes, and HIPAA compliance.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centric attitude.
- Interpersonal: Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
