Responsibilities
- Front Desk Operations: Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and check patients in/out efficiently to minimize wait times.
- Scheduling: Manage patient appointments using the EMR system, including confirming visits and rescheduling as necessary.
- Phone Management: Answer incoming calls professionally, triage messages to appropriate staff, and handle patient inquiries with accuracy.
- Administrative Support: Process patient check-ins, collect co-pays, and maintain accurate patient records and filing systems.
- Insurance Verification: Assist in verifying patient insurance coverage and benefits prior to appointments.
- Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for patients, providing clear instructions and ensuring a positive patient experience.
- Inventory Management: Monitor and restock lobby supplies and front desk materials to ensure a professional appearance.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Medical Receptionist certification or post-secondary training is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist, Front Desk Assistant, or in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth, Cerner) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a customer-service-oriented mindset.
- Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Professionalism: Ability to maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA compliance) at all times.
- Bilingual: Spanish language skills are highly desirable.
