Responsibilities
- Front Desk Management: Greet patients warmly upon arrival, check them in efficiently, and direct them to the appropriate medical professional.
- Appointment Scheduling: Manage the practice calendar, including scheduling new patient visits, follow-ups, and referral appointments using our EMR system.
- Communication Hub: Answer incoming calls professionally, triage messages to physicians, and provide general information to callers.
- Insurance & Billing: Verify patient insurance coverage, explain billing processes, and assist with prior authorizations.
- Administrative Support: Maintain accurate patient records, update demographics, and manage incoming mail and correspondence.
- Compliance: Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain strict patient confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Medical Receptionist certification is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience in a medical or dental front office setting preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and practice management software (e.g., Athenahealth, Epic).
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Organization: Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility: Ability to work remotely for certain administrative tasks and onsite for patient interaction.
