Responsibilities
- Front Desk Management: Greet patients warmly upon arrival, check them in efficiently, and answer phones in a professional and courteous manner.
- Scheduling: Manage patient appointments, reschedule cancellations, and ensure the schedule is optimized for provider availability.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and collect co-pays or deductibles accurately using our EMR system.
- Administrative Support: Maintain patient records, update medical histories, and file necessary documents in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Communication: Act as the liaison between patients, medical staff, and insurance companies to resolve inquiries and issues promptly.
- Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining office supplies and medical equipment inventory levels.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; medical certification or coursework is a plus.
- Experience: Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a customer service role within the healthcare industry preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on patient privacy and confidentiality.
- Professionalism: Must demonstrate a professional appearance, demeanor, and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Availability: Ability to work full-time hours, including occasional weekends or evenings as needed.
