Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression.
- Manage the front desk operations, including answering multiple phone lines and routing calls efficiently.
- Schedule patient appointments using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and confirm appointments via phone or email.
- Verify patient insurance information and process co-pays accurately using the Point of Sale (POS) system.
- Handle patient check-in and check-out processes, including updating demographic data and collecting necessary paperwork.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the reception area and waiting room.
- Assist with medical billing inquiries and provide general information about the practice's services.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in healthcare administration is a plus.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a medical receptionist or front desk assistant preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and EMR software (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) is highly desirable.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a busy medical environment.
- Bilingual skills (English and Hawaiian/Other) are a significant advantage.
- CPR/BLS certification is required.
