Responsibilities
- Patient Intake & Check-In: Greet patients warmly, verify personal information, and collect necessary insurance and demographic data accurately.
- Front Desk Operations: Manage the reception area, handle incoming calls, and direct inquiries to the appropriate departments promptly.
- Scheduling: Coordinate patient appointments using electronic health record (EHR) systems, including rescheduling and cancellations to optimize provider schedules.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to appointments to ensure a smooth billing process.
- Administrative Support: Process medical records requests, handle mail, and assist with filing and data entry tasks.
- Compliance: Adhere strictly to HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Medical Receptionist certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical front-desk or administrative role preferred.
- Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner) is required.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a professional and empathetic demeanor.
- Detail Oriented: Strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- License: Valid Indiana driver's license and reliable transportation may be required for occasional travel.
