Responsibilities
- Greet and Welcome Patients: Provide a warm, professional, and welcoming environment for patients arriving at the facility.
- Front Desk Management: Handle check-in and check-out processes efficiently, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed accurately.
- Appointment Scheduling: Manage the calendar, schedule patient appointments, and send reminders via phone or email to reduce no-shows.
- Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance coverage and explain benefits to patients prior to their visit.
- Medical Records Management: Maintain and update patient records in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system while strictly adhering to HIPAA compliance.
- Phone Support: Answer incoming calls, triage patient inquiries, and redirect calls to appropriate medical staff.
- Administrative Support: Assist with billing inquiries, process copays, and manage the reception area inventory.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Medical Office Administration is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a medical front office or healthcare setting preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in EMR/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, AthenaHealth) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong emphasis on customer service.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of medical terminology and HIPAA privacy regulations.
