Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient needs under the supervision of charge nurses and physicians.
- Vital Monitoring: Accurately monitor and record patient vital signs, pain levels, and medical history to ensure timely interventions.
- Medication Management: Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, strictly adhering to safety protocols and medication administration records (MAR).
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) detailing patient progress, changes in condition, and care provided.
- Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure continuity of care and patient education.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to code blue situations and medical emergencies, demonstrating quick critical thinking and teamwork.
- Hygiene & Comfort: Assist with daily living activities, hygiene, and patient positioning to ensure comfort and prevent pressure ulcers.
Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing School (ADN or BSN).
- Licensure: Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Virginia (or eligible for licensure by endorsement).
- Graduation Status: Must be within 6 months of graduation or a new graduate with less than 12 months of experience.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required or obtainable within 3 months of hire.
- Computer Skills: Proficiency in using hospital information systems and computer terminals.
- Soft Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
