Responsibilities
- Patient Care: Perform routine vital signs, EKGs, and prepare patients for examinations by providers.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, update electronic health records (EHR), and process insurance verifications.
- Lab Work: Collect and process blood samples and other lab specimens accurately and timely.
- Medication Management: Assist in medication administration and ensure proper documentation of patient medications.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the medical team regarding patient status and care instructions.
- Facility Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and medical equipment to ensure a safe environment.
Qualifications
- Certification: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program and Current CMA, RMA, or NCMA certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or medical office setting.
- Schedule: Must be available to work night shifts (e.g., 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM or 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM) on a consistent basis.
- Licensure: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred.
- Skills: Proficient in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and strong computer skills.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a patient-centered approach.
- Integrity: Strong adherence to HIPAA privacy regulations and medical ethics.
