Responsibilities
- Perform vital signs, phlebotomy, and EKGs on patients in a calm, controlled night environment.
- Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and patient admissions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic health records (EHR) and medical charts.
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure all medical equipment is sterilized and ready for use.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by providers and licensed staff.
- Manage inventory for the nursing station and order necessary supplies.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary care team.
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, NCMA) or completion of an accredited program.
- State of Florida Medical Assistant license or certification in good standing.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS certification required.
- Experience in a clinical setting, specifically with phlebotomy and EKG, is preferred.
- Ability to work rotating night shifts (e.g., 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM) reliably.
- Strong computer skills and proficiency with EMR systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient privacy (HIPAA compliance).
