Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages, including infants, children, and adults.
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques, safety protocols, and infection control standards.
- Properly label, process, and transport blood specimens to the laboratory for analysis.
- Educate patients about the collection process to ensure comfort and compliance.
- Update patient charts and ensure all medical records are accurate and HIPAA-compliant.
- Collaborate with nurses and lab technicians to ensure seamless patient care.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Willingness to obtain Phlebotomy certification or complete an on-site training program.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a compassionate, patient-centric attitude.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry and electronic health records.
- Valid driver's license is preferred for potential travel to satellite locations.
