Responsibilities
- Personal Care Assistance: Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Medication Management: Remind clients to take prescribed medications on time and accurately report any side effects or missed doses to the supervising nurse.
- Nutritional Support: Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary restrictions and personal preferences.
- Companionship: Provide emotional support and engage clients in meaningful conversations, hobbies, and recreational activities to combat loneliness.
- Light Housekeeping: Maintain a safe, clean, and organized living environment by performing light laundry, dusting, and tidying up common areas.
- Transportation: Accompany clients to medical appointments, shopping trips, or social events as needed.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Monitor and report vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and weight to the care coordinator.
Qualifications
- Certifications: Current CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) or HHA (Home Health Aide) certification preferred; experience as a Personal Care Assistant is a plus.
- Driver’s License: A valid driver’s license and reliable, insured transportation are required for this position.
- Background Check: Must pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening to ensure client safety.
- Empathy: A genuine, patient, and compassionate personality is essential for this role.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with clients and families.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 25 lbs for extended periods and perform physical assistance tasks.
