Responsibilities
- Provide Direct Patient Care: Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates.
- Medication Administration: Support the nursing team by reminding patients of scheduled medications and assisting with medication distribution as directed.
- Patient Comfort: Monitor patient conditions, report changes to supervisors immediately, and provide emotional support to patients and their families.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and clinical notes in accordance with HIPAA and facility policies.
- Infection Control: Adhere to strict hygiene protocols and infection control procedures to ensure a safe environment for all patients and staff.
- Communication: Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
- License Requirement: Current, unencumbered Texas Nurse Aide (CNA) License.
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare or long-term care setting preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and staff.
- Compassion: Strong empathy and a genuine passion for helping patients improve their quality of life.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift patients, and perform physical tasks as required by the job description.
- Reliability: Dependable attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
