Responsibilities
- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): Support patients with bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating to ensure their comfort and dignity.
- Vital Signs Monitoring: Accurately measure and record patient temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
- Patient Hygiene & Comfort: Maintain a clean, safe, and therapeutic environment for patients, including toileting and positioning assistance.
- Communication: Report changes in patient condition or behavior to the nursing staff and physicians immediately.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and care plans as required by hospital policy.
- Meal Assistance: Serve and assist patients with meals, ensuring dietary restrictions are respected.
- Emergency Response: Follow protocols for emergency situations and assist in transporting patients when necessary.
Qualifications
- Valid CNA License: Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant license in the state of California.
- BLS Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association.
- High School Diploma: High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospital or long-term care setting preferred.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand, walk, and lift patients (up to 50 lbs) for extended periods.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a focus on empathy.
- Computer Proficiency: Basic computer skills for electronic charting and documentation.
